Meet Marin Canaday
Marin Canaday grew up with OCD from early childhood, although she was not formally diagnosed with it until her adult years. Her little monster did its best to distract her as a child, but she found ways to ignore its voice through studying and athletics. In spite of her OCD, she graduated at the top of her class in both high school and college. She also excelled in volleyball, winning a national championship with Fresno Pacific University her senior year. Playing volleyball brought much needed relief from OCD because it allowed her to turn her mind off and simply play. Today, Marin writes in her free time. She is the author of My Little Monster, another children’s book describing her fight against her own OCD monster. Her monster still whispers to her, and at times begins to shout. These days, Marin finds relief in gardening, crafting, reading, and writing.
